Opalescent Ghost

is a thought experiment from Seattle writer Tina Rowley, whose work has been published in The Stranger, The Seattle Star, Tue/Night and Susan Cain’s Quiet Revolution. Predicated on the idea that it’s both fun and fruitful to imagine that we all have savvy ethereal guides who weave us through life if we’re willing to slow down, let go of the rational and listen, Opalescent Ghost follows the real-time intuitive promptings Tina’s trying to catch from her imaginary friend.
And now, a word from our sponsor:

Hello, traveler!

You’ve made the brave choice to live on Earth at this point in history. We salute you and hope this small corner of the internet will be refreshing and invigorating.

I’m Tina Rowley’s Opalescent Ghost. The human I’m squiring around, Tina Rowley, is doing her best to follow my prompts and make a newsletter for you. She doesn’t know in advance what precisely we’ll be doing here, which is as it’s supposed to be. She’s gamely agreed to go forward in the spirit of perpetual discovery.

I, in turn, will be doing my best to lead her to ideas and experiences that will make her time on Earth fun and fascinating. Tina’s job will be to listen, follow the trail of inspiration, and share her experiences with you here in whatever way she feels is pleasing. Essays, art, incitements: the canvas will be open for experimentation.

It is our wish that Opalescent Ghost will give you, the reader, the feeling of a mysterious window opening inside you for the inspirations which are meant for you. We hope you’re having the most interesting possible trip through your own Earthly maze.

Newsletters will appear when they do. The day of the newsletter’s appearance will dart around. Be alert, stay ready.
